Our daycare program is different than most. Dogs do not have unlimited access to one another all day long. Instead, they are brought out for socialization walks with other dogs. They learn to share space with another dog without freely interacting. We do this because as a behavioral trainer, we try to minimize doing things that may lead to problem behaviors down the road. Mismatched play styles, constant overstimulation and expectation of interaction when they see another dog are all things that can lead to some problem behaviors.

Dogs are taken for a couple walks a day. They are also given some time in our playroom to play either by themselves, or with us. Once we learn a dog’s play style, if we have another dog here that matches, we may let them play for short periods. After every interaction, dogs are placed back into their kennel for decompression and rest.
